For either Amtrak California Pacific Surfliners or Metrolink commuter trains, from trackside at Santa Ana, walk through the Station to TRANSIT TERMINAL DOCK 3. Board an Orange County Transit Authority  Route 55 bus Southbound. Exit bus at MACARTHUR - BIRCH and transfer to OCTA Bus Route 76 East. Exit bus at AIRPORT - ARRIVAL TERMINAL. Walk to JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT

OCTA announce on October 16, 2005, that the "Centerline" light rail project to the airport will NOT be built, as the Federal portion of the cost would not be provided. You'll hve to ride the bus to the airport for the foreseeable future.
