Kids 'n Trains Helpful Tips

Things to remember before submitting your Reservation Request form:

-    One form is required for each field trip.  Same-day round-trip travel is considered one (1) trip.  Overnight round-trip travel is considered two (2) trips (one going, one coming back)
.

-    When purchasing tickets at a staffed Amtrak station, Amtrak accepts payment in the form of cash, credit card or business check made payable to Amtrak.  When having the tickets mailed to you directly via Fed Ex, Amtrak accepts payment in the form of credit card or a personal check made payable to Amtrak.  (Note:  There is an additional $15.00 shipping/handling fee if using the FedEx option).


-    Minimum group size is 20
.

-    One chaperone is required for every six students
.

-    Travel is available on the San Joaquin Monday through Thursday and on Saturdays (with the exception of blackout dates)
.

-    Travel is available on the Pacific Surfliner Monday through Thursdays (with the exception of blackout dates).


-    Reservation Requests must be submitted at least 30 days prior to desired travel date(s)
.
