The Baker stop is located at the Baker Shell and Jack-in-the-Box Restaurant. (92309) It is an unstaffed stop used by Amtrak Motor Coaches connecting San Joaquin trains in Bakersfield with communities located along Rte 58 and Interstate 15 to Las Vegas.

Since it is unstaffed, there are no checked baggage, package express or ticket sales services. The nearest location for those services is Bakersfield. Employees of the Shell station and Jack-in-the-Box should not be expected to know the details of Amtrak motor coach arrivals and departures. Check the infopost at the stop for the schedule. For additional information about bus arrivals and/or departures, call 1-800-USA-RAIL.

Passengers boarding at Baker are expected to have Amtrak tickets with them. Tickets for this bus and connecting trains are available from an Amtrak travel agent, an Amtrak ticket office, over the telephone at 1-800-USA-RAIL, or from Amtrak's national web page: http://tickets.amtrak.com.

Baker is located about midway across the East Mojave National Scenic Area, a wild area encompassing most of Northeast San Bernardino County. Interstate 15 passes through the area; Baker lies at the junction of I-15 and State Route 127. Nearby are Fort Irwin (no access from Baker, use Barstow), the Mojave National Preserve, and Death Valley National Park.
