MERCED GATEWAY
For San Joaquin Valley residents, Merced has become the gateway to the Monterey/Salinas area. New Amtrak motor coach service meets San Joaquin trains in Merced and connect sto Monterey and Salinas via Los Banos, Hollister and San Juan Bautista.
Despite the road closures on Rte 140 to Yosemite, Merced is still the easiest access for Amtrak California passengers to Yosemite National Park.
For information, schedules and fares, see your Merced Amtrak agent, call 1-800-USA-RAIL, or visit us on the web.
