NEW 'SPRINTER' TRAINS OCEANSIDE-ESCONDIDO                             

Beginning  Sunday, March 9, 2008, North County Transit District will begin operating their local train service (called Sprinter) between the Oceanside Intermodal Station and California State University - San Marcos                           
                                                                           
These trains are modern diesel rail cars (Diesel Multiple Units, DMU for short) operating on frequent schedules as follows:
                    
      WEEKDAYS:      4:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., EVERY 30 MINUTES                            
      WEEKENDS:     4:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.,  EVERY 60 MINUTES                            
                                                                          
Fares:  One way: $2.00.  Passes  for both  Sprinter Trains and NCTD "Breeze" Buses:     Daily $4.00, Monthly $54.00.                   
                                                                          
Amtrak does not sell these tickets and does not maintain schedule information.  Buy tickets from ticket vending machines at the stattions.
