The Palmdale stop for Amtrak Motor Coaches is now the Transportation Center, 39000 Clock Tower Plaza Drive, just west of Sierra Highway and south of Technology Drive. (ZIP = 93550)

This Metrolink station is the transit hub for the area. Not only Metrolink and Amtrak Motor Coaches, but also Antelope Valley Transit Authority, Santa Clarita Transit, and Greyhound Bus Lines use the 3100+ square foot terminal, the 300 parking spaces, the 8 bay bus transfer center, and the large park-and-ride lot.

Amtrak Motor Coaches serving Palmdale connect to San Joaquin trains at Bakersfield, offering direct service to the San Joaquin and Sacramento Valleys and the Bay Area. Amtrak passengers connecting to the Pacific Surfliners or long distance trains at Los Angeles Union Station have only to board one of the frequent Metrolink trains for the trip into downtown Los Angeles.

The station is open seven days a week: Monday through Friday from 3:00 a.m. until Midnight, and Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00 a.m. until 10:30 p.m.

The Palmdale Amtrak stop is not staffed by Amtrak personnel. Therefore there is no ticket, checked baggage or package express service at Palmdale. The nearest station which offers those services for San Joaquin passengers is Bakersfield. For all other Amtrak passengers, the nearest station offering these services is Van Nuys or Los Angeles Union Station.

Employees of the Palmdale Transportation Center should not be expected to know the details of Amtrak motor coach schedules or fares. Schedules are posted at the Amtrak bus stop. For additional information, call 1-800-USA-RAIL, or visit the National Amtrak web site: <http://tickets.amtrak.com>.
