A new station has been completed in Paso Robles, next to the old Southern Pacific Depot, which had burned but is now rebuilt as stores. The new Amtrak station has covered waiting areas for Amtrak passengers, boarding zones for Amtrak Motor Coaches, bus zones for local transit, and a large parking lot.

Paso Robles is not staffed by Amtrak. Neither tickets, baggage, nor package express shipments are handled at this location. These services are available at San Luis Obispo. Tickets may be purchased from an Amtrak travel agent, over the telephone from Amtrak at 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245) or over the internet from Amtrak's home page, http://tickets.amtrak.com.

Remember: All space on the Coast Starlight and the San Joaquin Motor Coach is reserved, and generally sold out on the day of travel. Get tickets early. On the other hand, Amtrak California Pacific Surfliner trains and Motor Coaches connections are NOT reserved. Space is usually available.
