Effective April 25, 2005, a second stop will be added to the Amtrak Motor Coach service in San Pedro. The new stop will be at the San Pedro Public Library, 931 S. Gaffey Av. This localtion is expected to be more convenient for local residents and users of local transit.

The Catalina Terminal stop, at Berth 95, beneath the Vincent Thomas Bridge will remain.

Neither San Pedro stop is staffed by Amtrak. Therefore, no ticket, baggage or package express services are available. The nearest Amtrak location for such services is Los Angeles Union Station.

These stops will be most useful to people living in the San Pedro, Wilmington, Palos Verdes peninsula area wishing to travel on Amtrak through and into the Central Valley of California. Because this service also stops at Union Station, it may be used for connections to the Pacific Surfliners, other Amtrak services, , or Metrolink trains, although there may be some wait for connections.
